Fraction Pizza

As part of learning about Fractions, Mr Scott asked us to design a pizza made from paper. Some of us covered the whole base with sauce and cheese. Some placed ham filling on half and others had a much more random, all in together approach. They all looked yummy!

Spaghetti and Marshmallow Structures

Our Friday challenge this week was to work with a buddy to make a cube and pyramid using marshmallows and spaghetti noodles. The idea was to create a stable structure. Next time we hope to have more marshmallows so that we can design and build taller and bigger structures whilst keeping them stable.

Dots and Boxes

Last Friday our challenge was to learn a new game.We were given a piece of paper with dots on in a grid formation. We took turns to draw a line. If on your turn, your line completed the box - you wrote your name in the box and had another turn. We had to think carefully about where we draw our line.
We learned about having a strategy.

Self Portraits and Family Shields

Here we are having a photo shoot against the brick wall outside our room. It was a little tricky as the sun was shinning in our eyes. These are our self portraits with our holiday glasses on and our family shields where we illustrated - foods we like, members of our family, things we like to do as a family and lastly our favourite movie. Our classroom is going to look so colourful and wonderful when all of these are displayed in our room.

Find Someone Who......

As part of getting to know each other we were given a recording sheet. Our task was to roam around the room and ask questions like a reporter. If the person said yes, they wrote their name in a box on our grid. We tried to collect as many different names as we could. That way we were mixing it up and getting to know something about a lot of people in our class. One of the questions was - Does your family have a pet? Room 24 well done for getting to know each other better!!
